Job Description:

Bellarmine University Office of Business Affairs has an opening for a Senior Accountant with an anticipated start date of February 15, 2023. This is a regular, full-time position with normal working hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, although evening and weekend hours may be necessary depending on work demands. This position will be responsible for various account reconciliations, tracking of restricted funds and performing year-end audit procedures. The Senior Accountant will:

  • Manage university grant accounts
  • Track and approve financial expenditures of grant funds in compliance with grant rules and regulations
  • Report on grant funds as needed per the grant document
  • Develop and administer a system for providing direction to appropriate personnel re: funding & spending activities of grant funds
  • Coordination of accounts in the financial accounting system
  • Research and recommend solutions for accounting issues as needed
  • Prepare and input journal entries and reconciles accounts
  • Assist with year-end close and external audit work
  • Requirements:

    This position requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. Three or more years of experience in accounting or related field is preferred. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate their ability to analyze data and communicate clearly. The candidates must be able to work collaboratively and interact positively within a diverse, multi-cultural environment. The candidate must also be proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel.
