This new fulltime post is available immediately on a permanent basis.

Summary of the role

This post is based in the Grounds Sports Department and will be primarily based at our Topsham and Duckes Meadow sports facilities covering a range of grass and artificial sports surfaces for winter and summer activities. General tasks of the position will include setting up and inspecting playing surfaces to the highest standard, line marking and setting out pitches, cricket square preparations and using a wide variety of sports surface equipment.

This Job role plays is a key element in a superb student experience and in the delivery of the inter University Championships (BUCS) and in-house competitions.

The successful candidate should be able to display experience in the maintenance, inspection and marking of sports pitches. They must also be able to demonstrate knowledge of the safe operation of a range of sports maintenance machinery, equipment and tools.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of an excellent team delivering first class sport provision using some of the latest technology allowing you to focus on detailed quality.

Applicants with experience of cricket facilities are encouraged although this is not essential.

You must be able to work flexibly as part of a team or under your own initiative and provide evidence of good customer care.

The appointment will be on a 5 over 7 day working pattern which will include working weekends.
