Position Summary

We are seeking two Research Specialists to be responsible for biological sequence analysis, function prediction, and polypeptide discovery using the IDSeq platform. The IDSeq platform is a novel, fast, bioinformatic function prediction tool that uses multiple-sequence-alignments to predict function, with accuracy exceeding standard Machine Learning tools and without the need of modeling or training, developed in the PI lab. The candidates will work on either predicting drug resistance to existing protease inhibitors and reverse transcriptase inhibitors from sequence data, or finding novel polypeptide CEST contrast agents using different search methods using IDSeq as the fitness function.

Candidates will be expected to lead sequence data acquisition, data curation, and data analysis on high-performance compute clusters. Positions may be remote if desired.

These positions are 12 month fixed-term positions with full benefits and no guarantee of reappointment, but a chance to become an employee of a startup founded using the results of this research.
