Monmouth University is seeking applications for an Specialist Librarian- Technical Services & Library Systems. This position begins in the 2023-2024 academic year. Applications received by July 21, 2023 will receive fullest consideration. This search will remain open until filled.
The candidate would be expected to: Administer the Library Management System currently utilitize Sierra. Also, management and oversight of the Library's Technical Services Department operations and staff. In addition, recommending innovative technology for use in the Library and for the benefit of its users.

Master's degree from an American Library Association accredited program in Library Science; Demonstrated effectiveness in administration of library technical services operations, activities, or processes; Experience with library cataloging metadata creation, analysis and management;
Working knowledge of MARC and RDA cataloging protocols;
Ability to use a variety of computer software programs including a Library Management System along with other relevant software; Experience in successful troubleshooting and problem solving in the context of library information systems and data; Must be able to quickly and effectively implement relevant hardware and software; Demonstrated ability to work within a diverse environment and with a diverse employee and student population.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience administering a Library Management System, administrative functions of an enterprise software application, and/or server administration; Knowledge of library technology protocols such as OpenURL, OAI-PMH, and Z39.50;
Project management experience;
Experience supervising technical services staff;
Experience migrating and implementing a Library Management System;
Experience implementing new technologies (hardware, software and/or applications) in an academic library environment; Experience gathering usage statistics of library resources and services and creating reports based on this data.
