Associate's Degree in a related field. Three years of related experience or experience in a related field. Certifications may be required. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position
Performs advanced specialist duties for the Registrar's office.
Primary Responsibilities
Provides phone, email, and/or in-person support for registration and support for specific duties related to student registration. Responds to general registration and resource questions with knowledge and understanding of the student registration system. Aids students in adding, dropping, resigning and any steps associated with these processes. Assists in system upgrade testing, resolution process troubleshooting, and implementing changes as guided by leadership. Requires knowledge of state reporting and enrollment reporting to the National Student Clearinghouse and may be involved in report submissions. Requires regular upkeep of data, meeting project timelines and identifying issues with processes, and other support. Coordinates, compiles, and evaluates data to ensure the efficiency of processes and services provided. Requires the ability to read and understand technical manuals, summarizing information gathered to enhance processes with collaborative team efforts. Recommends to the supervisor internal policies, procedures, and workflows to ensure effective and efficient operation. Attends and participates in all required training workshops provided by the department, division, and university. Prepares, reviews, revises, and distributes official university documents and reports. Executes and follows through with complex and technical responsibilities. Conducts research for preparation and dissemination of information. May be responsible for planning, directing, and participating in special projects. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requires basic understanding of office operations and system functionality with the ability to choose appropriate technology tools for tasks. Requires demonstrated functional experience with Microsoft Office or similar productivity software. Capable and willing to share technical skills and knowledge with others. Must be able to identify interconnection of systems. Ability to identify problems and consider potential solutions. Ability to communicate and interact with others individually and in groups. Must be able to work well as part of a team and communicate effectively with a variety of constituents with an awareness of how one interacts with others. Requires communication skills to include verbal, non-verbal, listening and written. Must have basic understanding of institutional policies, procedures, and resources. state and federal law, professional standards, student privacy issues, and student record keeping. Requires general comprehension of the various means of recordkeeping and the related systems with the ability to locate and use available resources to find answers. Willingness to seek out and rely on the expertise of others both to improve decision-making and as a means of expanding expertise. Collaboration with campus departments is required. Occasionally, may be required to work beyond 40-hour work week during peak student registration and end-of-term periods.
Up to 20% of this position, over the fiscal year during off-peak periods, may be performed remotely as determined by the supervisor.
