Job Description
The Sourcing Specialist Auxiliaries, Site Services, and Travel is a key member of the Sourcing and Procurement and Procure to Pay teams at Boston University. Under the general management of the Senior Category Manager for Auxiliaries & Site Services, the Sourcing Specialist is primarily responsible for the execution of an annual category plan for assigned indirect spend commodities, including auxiliaries, site services. The position is also responsible for overseeing Boston University's multi-million-dollar travel program and managing the performance of the University's outsourced third-party travel management company (TMC). Additionally, the sourcing specialist will also recommend opportunities for improvement and savings across all assigned spend categories.
Major duties of this position include:
Project management responsibility include ownership of a subset of initiatives on the Senior Category Manager's strategic plan. The Sourcing Specialist is expected to deliver measurable, quantifiable cost and/or process efficiencies using BU's established Sourcing Methodology, which includes the following stages:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, manage, and execute on category plan initiatives to deliver best total value to the University, including managing competitive bid events and negotiating business and legal terms.
