Provide technical support, oversight, coordination, and supervision in the technical and design areas related to lighting needs for academic/production projects presented in or by College of Arts & Sciences' CAS School of the Arts (SoA). Hire, schedule, supervise, and train students, including Student Employee technicians, in the safe use of lighting equipment.. Manage SoA performance and other space needs and serve as a liaison with outside groups and vendors. Work closely with the faculty and designers to develop expectations of production needs.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor's degree in a related field and two to four years' related experience to include professional lighting and sound required. Knowledge, skills and experience with electrical equipment maintenance, repair and electrical distribution required. Effective organizational, instructional, and communication skills required. Experience with supervising and directing stage managers and technical crews required. Experience with theatrical design, video projection and electrical distribution required. Knowledge of current theatrical and lighting and concert sound technologies required. Experience with production processes required. A valid driver's license, or ability to obtain, and a driver's check may be required.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience with analog and digital sound mixing. Experienced lighting designer.
