Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Software/Test/DevOps Engineer Intern to join our team for Summer 2023Hill Air Force Base Utah office. As an intern, you will work with our senior engineers to design, develop, and document software applications. You will contribute to the testing process by creating unit tests for large-scale software applications and automated tests for a system of systems. In addition, you will help configure DevOps pipeline tools and improve the CI/CD process.

  • Collaborate with senior engineers to design, develop, and document software applications.
  • Develop unit tests for large-scale software applications and automated tests for a system of systems.
  • Configure DevOps pipeline tools and enhance the CI/CD process.
  • Provide recommendations for process improvements and execute those recommendations in collaboration with the team.
  • What You Will Learn

  • Gain hands-on experience working on software projects in various stages of the development lifecycle.
  • Learn how to analyze software and determine what to test and not to test.
  • Learn best practices and use of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment pipeline tools.
  • Learn how to work in a large code base with a team.

    Required Minimum Qualifications

    Intern

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, software engineering, computer science, or a similar field.
  • 2.5 or higher cumulative GPA
  • Must be registered for Full-time Internship Credit
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Familiarity with Linux
  • The ability to self-task
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas
  • Strong programming skills in C# or other Object Oriented Programming language.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline tools, such as Jenkins, GitLab Runners, Sonarqube, and Elastic.
  • Automation scripting and/or testing experience.
  • Experience with Git
  • Experience writing tests using NUnit.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Secret clearance
  • Experience in one or more programming languages
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of distributed systems and microservices.
  • Experience with Jira or other task tracking tool.
  • Familiarity with AWS or other cloud providers.
  • Hours per Week

    Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.

    Clearance Type Required

    Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance.
