Your new role
We are seeking a software engineer/developer to join the HPIS research group
at the School of EECMS, Curtin University, to work on industry-focused DevOps
As this position is funded by the Australian Government – Department of
Defence, appointees must be Australian Citizens and able to undertake Baseline
Security Clearance to participate in this project.
Motivated and promising candidates without cited experience (including recent
graduates) will also be considered for these positions and are encouraged to
Responsibilities for roles will include:
Building a highly decoupled and scalable K8s-based micro-service
Developing Automated software testing and configuration controlled via the
Research into performance analysis of micro-service architectures,
virtualisation, and containerised environments.
Maintain communication with project partners and stakeholders throughout
the duration of assigned projects to ensure regular exchange of project-
related information and to initiate appropriate action for issues if they
Produce and maintain high-level documentation, including but not limited
to technical reports, code repositories, and code itself.

The High-Performance Intelligent Systems (HPIS) Research Group focuses on
the design and development of next-generation distributed Intelligent systems
using state-of-art technologies, i.e., service computing paradigm, edge-cloud
computing, machine learning (ML) techniques, Internet of Things (IoT), and
software engineering. The group consists of leading experts in software
engineering, big data analytics, machine learning and cloud/edge computing.

with various industry partners.

An undergraduate qualification in a relevant discipline (computer
science, software engineering or data engineering) with considerable
relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience
Demonstrated experience and proficiency in software engineering best
Demonstrated experience in object-oriented programming
Software development experience in a Linux-based collaborative
The ability to work autonomously and as part of an agile team.
Design and development experience in REST-based applications with database
Container experience with Docker and or Kubernetes in a production
