Job Title Software Engineer · Enterprise Integration (remote optional) Job Description

The Enterprise Integration Services department in the Office of Information Technology (OIT) at the University of Notre Dame is adding another Software Engineer to our team. The OIT has been recognized for 9 consecutive years in IDG's Insider Pro and Computerworld's best place to work in IT.

We are looking for Software Engineers that listen well, are curious, partner effectively with others, and thrive in a supportive environment that expects excellence from everyone. Enterprise Integration Services is a multidisciplinary team that improves the speed of service delivery for partners across campus by enabling easy access to enterprise data and providing software platforms, patterns, and tools that increase developer productivity.

We are looking for an amazing person with:

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science-related field or 2-4 years of work experience
  • An engineering mindset that can break goals into actionable chunks of work
  • Experience writing code in an object-oriented language like Ruby, Python, or Java
  • Experience writing tests for new code and legacy code (existing code without tests)
  • Working knowledge of data sources like databases, APIs, and structured files
  • Working knowledge of Linux servers and/or containers
  • It would be great if you were already familiar with some of the tools we use like:

  • Talend Studio for low-code integrations
  • Ruby on Rails for application development
  • git & GitHub for version control
  • AWS for cloud infrastructure
