Recruitment Number 23-095TY, Social Service Aid III (Female), SR-09, Honolulu, O`ahu.

Summary of Duties

Independently provides all supportive services for a unit or team; participates in team activities; does limited field work including checking with clients, encouraging them to use available resources, following up on cases on a periodic basis, and relaying information, problems and observations to the professional staff.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Education Requirement : Graduation from high school. Experience of the type described below or work experience requiring the ability to read, comprehend, and apply written directions, or a high degree of verbal skill may be substituted for lack of high school education.

Specialized Experience Requirement : Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in providing supportive services to social workers, vocational rehabilitation specialists, public housing managers, or other professional workers in such programs as public welfare, family court, vocational rehabilitation, and public housing; e.g., performing clerical tasks in processing various documents, transporting clients and materials to and from various destinations, explaining to clients or tenants the services available, assisting in overseeing group activities such as bowling and swimming.

Substitutions Allowed :

1. Training received at an accredited college or university may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of three (3) years.

2. Satisfactory completion of a social service aid and assistant curriculum at an accredited community college, technical school, or junior college which resulted in a Certificate of Achievement or Associate of Science or related degree may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of two (2) years.
