The Social Media Content Producer will help drive the content and video strategy for Duke University and is responsible for creating engaging visual media for Duke's flagship social media accounts.

This position is for someone who is passionate about creating innovative and engaging content particularly for our vertical platforms, such as TikTok, Reels and YouTube Shorts. This individual will have strong video and photography skills and knowledge of how to make visually appealing content for social media platforms.

The Social Media Content Producer reports to the Social Media Manager and works with colleagues in University Communications, as well as with communication professionals within the schools and units across campus.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Help implement the University's social media strategy by creating engaging social first content for all our flagship channels
  • Research, plan, create and edit social media content such as videos, photos, graphics, gifs, and memes
  • Translate complex research into engaging, digestible social media content for a general audience on the University's social media channels
  • On the ground coverage and capture of major University events such as commencement and orientation week
  • Minimum Qualifications Education Work requires an understanding of the production of still and motion media projects in order to coordinate and direct the production of such projects, normally acquired through a college degree in a media production area.

    Experience Work requires one year of directly relevant experience.
