  • About the Role

    This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Senior Tutor to join our dynamic team in the Department of Anatomy and Physiology. Your primary role will be to provide essential support to the Academics leading the redesign of the Neuroscience Major. While actively participating in this major overhaul, you will also have the chance to learn and grow from the experience.

    Over the course of 18 months, you'll collaborate closely with seasoned teaching Academics, gaining invaluable insights into subject management, curriculum design, and the intricacies of tertiary education. Your contribution will be instrumental in enhancing the undergraduate learning experience, particularly within the field of Neuroscience.

    Your responsibilities will include:

  • Engage in subject management, including LMS management and student communications.
  • Assist in curriculum design for the Neuroscience Major.
  • Review pedagogical approaches and participate in educational research.
  • Maintain compliance with university policies and demonstrate respectful, cooperative, and equitable behavior.
  • Who We Are Looking For You are a highly communicative and detail-oriented team player who excels in managing complex priorities in a dynamic environment. You're motivated by the opportunity to enhance student learning and contribute to academic excellence.

    You will also have:

  • A Tertiary degree with a preference for Life science/STEMM education or a combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and to work on a number of small to medium-sized projects concurrently, with minimal direct supervision.
  • High level interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise well with Academic and Professional staff as well as students of the department.
  • Demonstrated skills in using/maintaining the Canvas Learning Management System.

    This position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check to ensure the University provides a safe environment for everyone.
