Senior Technical Officer in the School of Biomedical Sciences (Ref.: 523826) (to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree, preferably a postgraduate degree. They should have at least 2 years' solid work experience in biological sciences or a related laboratory science discipline. They should also be highly motivated, and able to work independently and as a team in a multi- disciplinary laboratory environment. Experience with transgenic mice, molecular biology techniques, virus preparation, imaging techniques or in vivo physiology techniques would be an asset.
The appointee will play a crucial role in supporting laboratory activities, maintaining equipment and facilities, and collaborating with researchers to ensure smooth scientific operations. His/her responsibilities include, but are not limited to: conduct laboratory experiments and provide technical support to researchers and staff, maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure their proper functioning, prepare and analyze samples, perform quality control tests, and accurately record experimental data, assist in the development and implementation of laboratory protocols and standard operating procedures, collaborate with researchers to optimize experimental procedures and provide technical guidance, ensure compliance with safety regulations, maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
