Senior Technical Officer/Technical Officer in the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering (Ref.: 523756) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefit scheme, totaling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree, preferably a Master's degree, in Industrial Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related disciplines. Substantial work experience and/or postgraduate research experience would be an advantage. They should have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); good interpersonal and communication skills; be self-motivated, highly organized and a good team leader. Knowledge and skills in one or more areas in embedded system software and hardware development, digital twin, cyber-physical systems, 3D Printing, robotics, enterprise information systems (ERP, WMS, etc.), service engineering, as well as industrial/business applications of mobile, web, smart card, and RFID and IoT technologies would be an advantage. Applicants with less experience will be considered as Technical Officer.
The appointee will support all aspects of laboratory development and technical support/services for teaching and research activities in the Department, as well as development and delivery of capstone and experiential learning courses in the Bachelor of Engineering programme. He/She will also be responsible for providing general IT technical support to the Department, maintaining a record of departmental inventory, and performing other duties as assigned, including providing support at the Tam Wing Fan Innovation Wing.
