We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Statistician to join the National Perinatal Epidemiology Unit (NPEU) Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) as part of the Core Trials Team. We are seeking a medical statistician with experience of analysing clinical trials to further develop their statistical and clinical trials expertise and leadership skills within an internationally recognised, multi-disciplinary research unit where multi-centre trials are conducted to the highest standard. You will take lead responsibility for the statistical aspects of the design, analysis and reporting of trials/studies in the NPEU CTU portfolio.
The NPEU is an internationally recognised, multi-disciplinary research unit based within the Nuffield Department of Population Health (NDPH). The Unit undertakes research relating to pregnancy, childbirth and newborn babies. Randomised controlled trials undertaken by the NPEU Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) make up a large component of the NPEU's work. The ongoing programme of trials at the NPEU CTU evaluates a broad range of interventions for women and babies in the perinatal health services.
To be considered, you will have a postgraduate qualification in statistics, epidemiology or clinical trials, a substantial part of which relates to medical statistics or clinical trials methodology. You will have specialist knowledge and experience in the statistical aspects of all stages of randomised controlled trials, and proficiency in statistical packages. Additionally, you will have skills in leadership and effectively managing and developing staff. The post is ideal for an enthusiastic medical statistician with highly effective communication skills (written & verbal) & meticulous attention to detail.

The position is full time (requests for part time hours will be considered) and fixed term for 3 years in the first instance. The closing date for applications is noon on Tuesday 20th December 2022.
