The role/Te mahi
The Senior Specialist Risk Management role within the Office of Risk, Assurance, and Compliance is responsible for improving and maintaining the University's Risk Management Framework and engaging with stakeholders at both an operational and strategic level.
The role also involves the co-ordination of special reviews/investigations, with support provided by external specialists if needed. This work will also drive the development of training programs to alert staff to fraud and corruption risks.
This is an interesting and varied role, providing you with access to a wide variety of stakeholders and senior leaders across the wider University.
You will be responsible for facilitating risk management activities across all University operations.
Skills and experience/Kā pūkeka me kā wheako
Ideally you will have previously worked in risk management at a senior level within a large/complex organisation. The role will see you working in collaboration with various University groups and committees, so your strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills will be valuable in ensuring your success in this position.
Other useful skills/experiences include: • The ability to synthesise complex information into a clear and concise risk position appropriate to the University environment. • Prior experience with the development and implementation of risk management programs • Flexible, adaptable and professional approach when dealing with colleagues and stakeholders.

Our team is the Office of Risk, Assurance, and Compliance and we are responsible for supporting all areas of the University's business, including its academic, research, administrative, project, and commercial activities.
We are a valued and effective member of the University community, tasked with helping our colleagues navigate assurance, compliance services, and providing them with value added risk management consultancy services.
