CENTRE FOR INNOVATIVE SERVICE-LEARNING

The Centre for Innovative Service-Learning (CISL) at Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) develops and manages credit-bearing service-learning courses and extra-curricular social innovation initiatives. We are committed to delivering the best student experience and enhancing whole-person development by supporting the development of service-learning and social innovation opportunities that meet community needs and foster social changes. We manage a co-working space named TriAngle, which has the vision to be an impactful platform for students, staff, social innovators and social entrepreneurs to develop innovative and creative abilities and collaborate to address local and global challenges.

Senior Social Innovation Officer (PR0429/22-23)

We are seeking a dynamic and independent individual to assist the Innovation Lead in developing and managing our TriAngle. Together with the team, crafting the brand of TriAngle through impactful local, regional and international innovative initiatives and working closely with students, staff and community partners are integral aspects of this role. Major duties:

  • Plan, organise, run and promote social innovation initiatives that embrace social entrepreneurial spirit and create positive social changes;
  • Engage students and faculty in competitions and funding schemes, and coach students in developing projects;
  • Manage social innovation kick-start fund and other funding schemes;
  • Capture data and evaluate the social impact of TriAngle and its initiatives;
  • Analyse data, prepare write-ups and social media posts for publicity and reporting purposes;
  • Manage the daily operations of TriAngle;
  • Act as a coach/mentor in related initiatives;
  • Assist in service-learning and help to incubate potential service-learning project teams into sustainable social innovation projects or social enterprises; and
  • Occasional travelling to the mainland and overseas may be required.
  • Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree or above with at least five years of relevant work experience;
  • Knowledge of social innovation and/or social entrepreneurship; experience in managing social innovation or social enterprise-related projects and/or having good networks with community partners/the social innovation community will be a definite advantage;
  • An excellent team player who is positive, creative, responsive, mature and able to work independently and under pressure with excellent communication and organisational skills;
  • Good analytical and writing skills for constructing reports and grant proposals independently, efficiently and under tight working schedules;
  • High competency in MS office; and
  • Excellent English and Chinese (including Putonghua) spoken and writing skills.
  • Applicants with less experience will be considered for the position of Social Innovation Officer.

    The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two years. Reappointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.

    Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
