  • About the Role The Senior ServiceNow Developer role is integral to advancing and supporting the University of Melbourne's strategic enterprise service management ServiceNow platform. As a key member of the ServiceNow Solutions team, the role involves active participation in sprint planning, refining requirements, and expanding the functionality of ServiceNow across various modules. This position offers a unique opportunity for continuous learning within a large and supportive ServiceNow team, contributing to a diverse technical landscape and encouraging professional growth.

    Your responsibilities will include:

  • Investigate and diagnose incidents, addressing defects, fulfilling requests, and implementing changes to ServiceNow applications with a focus on root cause analysis
  • Serve as Release Manager, coordinating activities for successful and secure code deployment, and support platform management through various tools and best practices
  • Collaborate on complex system integrations, leverage evolving Now Platform capabilities, and participate in technical governance to ensure adherence to best practices and continuous improvement
  • Who we are looking for We are seeking individuals who are highly experienced in developing ServiceNow components, possess a strong background in incident investigation and root cause analysis, ideally with expertise in asset and configuration management. Your extensive knowledge of system design, experience with managing ServiceNow environments in Agile settings, and solid communication skills across all organisational levels will contribute to the effective and efficient operation of the ServiceNow platform.

    You will also have:

  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer with an appropriate tertiary qualification or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training
  • ITIL qualifications with service management experience in an operational environment
  • Agile certification will be highly advantageous
  • Strong functional and technical knowledge of ServiceNow including extensive developer experience in large organisations
