About This Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Scientific Officer to provide technical and research support to graduate students, postgraduate students, and research staff in the Histology Core Facility. This position will assist in the day-to-day activities and operations and is responsible for the management of instruments, chemicals, and efficient delivery of services in a teaching and research environment. Responsibilities also include some laboratory administration and direct client consultations.
Key responsibilities will include:
Perform safety inductions and training for facility users.
Acquire and maintain laboratory consumables and chemicals, and establish reference materials for use across a range of instruments and techniques.
Engage in client consultations to ascertain requirements and give advice for specific services.
As required, carry out biopsy dissections, sample preparation and analysis on multiple instruments.
Training, monitoring and assistance for postgraduate students, staff, and external clients in histological, immunohistochemical, and in-situ- hybridization techniques.
Perform other duties as reasonably directed by the Histology Manager.

About You
What We Can Offer
This is a full-time (100%), continuing position at HEW 6.
The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $84,871 - $91,158 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $99,300 - $106,655 per annum.
