Senior Research Technician

RDM Investigative Medicine, Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine, John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford Grade 6: £29,614 - £35,326 p.a.

We wish to hire a talented and highly motivated senior research technician to investigate the translational implications of mechanisms underlying tissue T cell immune responses. Graham Ogg's group is studying lipid-specific and peptide-specific T cells in the blood and skin in order to define disease pathogenesis and to identify targets for future therapeutic intervention. The Senior Research Technicians role is primarily to support the progression of studies by performing necessary core lab work required to move studies forward.

The work will include molecular biology, tissue culture, flow cytometry, tissue analyses and cellular assays. Work will likely include single cell high-throughput sequencing approaches, spatial transcriptomics and tissue CyToF (Hyperion).

The successful candidate will conduct research in a dynamic and highly collaborative environment of an internationally leading research institute. They will benefit from the institute and wider university expertise in immunology, computational biology, machine-learning and big-data science.

To be considered for this position you should hold a relevant BSc degree e.g immunology, molecular biology or biochemistry

You should have previous laboratory management experience and experience in molecular biology (e.g. RNA preparation, qPCR, protein synthesis, genotyping, DNA cloning, tissue section and staining).

You will be based in the Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine, John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford as your normal place of work;

This post is fixed-term for up to 3 years and is full-time.
