This Senior Research Scientist will provide technical research support, data management and analysis, and project management. This position will provide advanced research and technical support including experimental design, execution, troubleshooting and optimization. This position will collect and manage research data, monitor experimental data for accuracy, and perform statistical analyses of data. This position will also assist with the interpretation and presentation of research results and writing research reports, manuscripts and contract/grant proposals. This position will also provide project management including employee training and supervision, coordination of technician responsibilities and activities, resource allocation, and ensure compliance with institutional safety regulations.

Educational Requirements

Ph.D. in Biology, Microbiology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics or other related discipline

Qualifications and Experience

Candidate must have outstanding oral and written communication skills in English. Must have recent experience and proficiency in animal handling techniques (intraperitoneal injections, intravenous injections, subcutaneous injections, intramuscular injections, submandibular bleeds, oral gavage, necropsy, etc) and performing animal survival surgeries. Strongly prefer candidates with experience constructing and using humanized mouse models. Candidate must have flow cytometry experience including the design, testing and optimization of flow cytometry panels, sample preparation, data collection and analysis, and equipment maintenance. Candidate must be proficient with the use of personal computer and software packages needed to statistically analyze research data and present data acquired through this lab work. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule and respond to laboratory emergencies.

Preferred qualifications and experience include: graduate research experience including at least one year working in academic, biotechnology, pharmaceutical or vaccines industries. Experience performing tissue culture techniques and cell-based functional assays. Experience training and supervising research staff. Scientific productivity and documented evidence of manuscript and grant writing experience. Advanced proficiency with computers and software programs for database management, word processing, and graphics.
