Salary Package: $88,589 - $97,787 per annum, plus 17% superannuation and annual leave loading

The Role
The Precision Cancer Therapy Lab within the department of Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences are seeking a Biobank and Clinical Cohorts Coordinator to support the recruitment of patient and banking of biospecimens across lung cancer and melanoma at Macquarie University and Chris O'Brien Lifehouse.
Your responsibilities will be to:
be involved in a high-level model for the strategic implementation of patient recruitment and biospecimen collection
provide high-level support in the strategic implementation of the program
collaborate with clinicians and research scientists
undertake database management and data analysis, including computational and statistical analysis, for the PCT Research Group
undertake a variety of complex molecular and cellular biology research techniques and related experiments
undertake experiments with, and train laboratory users, on the use and care of specialist laboratory equipment such as the Droplet Digital PCR, LiCoR imaging
About You
To be successful in this role, you:
have fantastic writing and communication abilities, with experience writing and curating business reports and procedures
have an understanding of biobank governance requirements
possess demonstrable project coordination skills
are familiar with laboratory equipment and have experience with PCR, flow cytology and biospecimen processing
possess accuracy, attention to detail, planning and analysis skills together with problem-solving and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement
can work both independently and as part of a team, taking the initiative and exercising sound judgement in resolving matters than may arise as part of normal daily work
About Us
The PCT laboratory is a world-class research group investigating the molecular and cellular biology of cancer across a range of cancer types. Work includes understanding the response of cancer to the latest targeted and immune- mediated treatments, defining the mechanisms of cancer cell resistance to therapy and predicting the response of patients to treatment. The successful candidate will be part of the recently awarded MRFF grant (IMPLEMENT) in investing the role of liquid biomarkers in early and late-stage non-small cell lung cancer and melanoma in predicting treatment response, recurrence and survival.

Qualifications in Science or Health Care related degree (Bachelor, Masters or PhD only)

Desirable criteria
