Applications are invited for appointing as Senior Research Assistant in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration (Ref: 523629) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 10% of basic salary)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor/Master degree with focuses on research in Social Sciences and Social Work, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related discipline; strong proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese). Quantitative skills and proficiency in statistical or computer modeling software (e.g., R, Python, MATLAB) are highly preferred.
The appointee will assist the PI in automating data collection pipelines, carrying out data analysis and drafting reports, and performing other duties as assigned. He/She will have ample opportunities to work with social workers, multidisciplinary professionals, and other stakeholders in the local community.
Applicants with sufficient coding skills should include their Github handles in their CV. Those with experience developing ERP and CRM systems, frontend or backend programming, data scraping, statistical computing, dashboarding, user- experience design, or cloud computing background will be asked to produce web application prototypes, deploy machine-learning models, and automate data visualization pipelines to support ongoing projects.
