Senior Research Assistant/Research Assistant I in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 508309) (to commence as soon as possible on a one-year temporary basis or two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should have a Master's degree or above in public health, statistics, biostatistics, bioinformatics or related disciplines, with at least 1 year's post-qualification work experience in clinical or community- based research. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to acquire new statistical techniques through self-learning. They should be able to multi-task and work independently, highly motivated, and attentive to details. Experience in managing and analysing health record data or omics data (e.g. genomics) using R and/or Stata will be a significant advantage. Those with lower qualifications and/or less experience may be considered for appointment as Research Assistant I.

The appointee will work on a population-based cohort of older adults and studies of medication. He/She will coordinate projects; recruit participants via telephone and/or face-to-face interviews; acquire, clean and manage data; conduct statistical analysis; assist in preparing reports and publications; and perform administrative tasks and other duties as assigned. This post will provide an excellent opportunity for acquiring analytical skills in the fields of medicine and public health. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
