Senior Research Assistant/Research Assistant I/II in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration (Ref.: 517531) (to commence as soon as possible, on a one-year temporary term or two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree or above in Public Policy, Sociology, Public Administration, Social Work, or a related discipline, with at least three years' post-qualification work experience; or a Master's degree in the aforementioned disciplines with one year's post-qualification experience. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including fluent spoken Cantonese), strong analytical skills, familiarity with both quantitative (using statistical software such as SPSS, R) and qualitative research methods, and the ability to work independently and as a team. Those with lower qualifications may be considered for appointment as Research Assistant I/II.
The appointee will work on a social capital project in Chinese/Asian contexts among older adults, youth, and ethnic minorities. He/She will be responsible for literature review, data collection and data analysis, preparation of presentations, manuscripts and reports, supervision of research helpers, and other research-related duties as assigned by the investigators.
