The UCLan Innovation Clinic offers support in product design, innovation and business development to companies with high growth potential who want to strategically grow into new markets. UCLan is able to offer an exciting opportunity for a CVML engineer to join the Innovation Clinic project in a role that will develop your commercial knowledge, hone your research skills and enable you to input ideas into new technology solutions related to new product development.
The Innovation Clinic provides support to Lancashire businesses that are developing new products or services and helps to bring them successfully to market. As a Senior Research Assistant you will work closely with the Innovation Manager and with our clients to understand their product idea and to undertake research and development in technical and commercial areas to inform the SME on the best routes to develop technical solutions.
The purpose of this post is to provide high quality research and development capability to the project's Innovation Engineer that will encompass technology, system's and capability research. It will require the development of concept designs and proposals of a high standard to present to the client companies. We are seeking an individual with an enquiring mind and good grasp of research in technical and commercial areas. They should have an interest in how new product ideas are developed into a business proposition and in supporting these to market.
We are looking for an individual with a strong R&D skills set who also possesses a Good honours degree (2:1) in CVML or equivalent. They will have previous work experience working in a CVML based R&D / work practice and experience of developing NPD programmes from client briefs. They will also have delivered NPD in a commercial context and have a sound understanding of the processes associated with NPD delivery.
The UCLan Innovation Clinic is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the University of Central Lancashire.
