About the Centre for Water Technology and Policy

The Centre for Water Technology and Policy, established in 2018, conducts cutting-edge research on water technology and water policy issues that produce findings of direct practical relevance for Hong Kong's urban water sector. Our research team has assembled some of the best minds in the Faculties of Engineering and Social Sciences. The Centre offers a vibrant working environment, embraces an innovative culture and commits to a can-do spirit. We are seeking a dynamic and highly-motivated Senior Project Officer to lead the execution of large-scale applied research projects on water conservation and river ecology conservation.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership: Take charge of tracking project deliverables, to ensure that they are aligned with established milestones, and to drive their timely completion.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with project team members, providing guidance and coordination to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Communication Strategy: Lead and implement a comprehensive communications and engagement strategy to raise public awareness of water sustainability issues and engage a wide range of stakeholders both within and outside the academic sector.
  • Content Development: Coordinate the creation of engaging, accessible content for non-specialist audiences, including social media posts and website materials.
  • Community Outreach: Utilize latest technologies and insights from behavioral science to design and conduct community outreach activities that focus on water sustainability issues.
  • Requirements

  • A Bachelor's or a Master's degree in Journalism, Communications, or Environmental Science/Ecology
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional work experience
  • Strong interests in sustainability and environmental conservation issues is a plus
  • Excellent written and spoken proficiency in Chinese/Cantonese and English
  • Strong communication skills, exceptional problem-solving abilities, effective time management, self-motivation, and meticulous attention to detail
  • What We Offer

    The appointment will commence as soon as possible on a 1-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered. Other benefits include annual leave, medical benefits and free access to on-campus gyms and libraries.
