Position Title Senior Research Analyst Campus Remote Department 1310-Interprofessional Education - IPE Type of Position Administration Job Summary

1. A senior research analyst is a general educational or social science researcher who has the requisite graduate training and experience to create course evaluation tools, distribute and collect student surveys, analyze quantitative and qualitative course outcomes data, create written data analysis reports, present verbal data analysis reports, write research grant applications and design quantitative and qualitative research studies, manage data-collection processes, conduct advanced data analyses, and prepare reports for internal or external distribution. The Senior Research Analyst supports the IPE program and CETL by designing research, conducting data analysis, and reporting on WesternU Interprofessional Practice & Education (IPE) initiatives (such as course, faculty, and learning outcomes.)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Individuals must possess these knowledge, skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

1. Advanced knowledge of SPSS and Microsoft Excel. Working knowledge of Qualtrics strongly preferred. 2. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organization skills. 3. Supervisory experience, particularly with early career employees or student workers.

Required Qualifications

1. Education: Advanced degree in educational research, evaluation, psychology, or a related field. Masters degree required, doctorate strongly preferred. 2. Experience: 5+ years experience and proven ability in designing and conducting educational or social science research, including retrieving, analyzing, and presenting data in written, graphical, and oral formats to various audiences.

Essential Job Duties

Job Duty

Oversee the day to day operations of evaluation projects.

Percentage Of Time 20 Job Duty

Manages research design for IPE initiatives, conduct advanced analyses, and prepare reports for internal distribution and external publication.

Assumes responsibility for conducting qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods data analyses and reporting.

Manage data collection processes, including web-based surveys, paper questionnaires, and existing databases.

Conduct descriptive and inferential statistical analyses and prepare reports for distribution, using SPSS, Excel, and other tools.

Participates in the development, submission, revision and renewal or IRB applications.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands to operate a PC in the performance of job duties, and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to sit, and reach with hands and arms, and occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, and smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
