We are seeking to appoint a Senior Registry Administrator as part of the Quality and Standards team based within the Academic Registry. The role will encompass a broad range of administrative support for selected quality assurance activities including maintenance of the curriculum database. Consideration will also be given to allocating other responsibilities across the team's remit based on any previous experience.

Your role will support a ‘quality culture' within BNU and help to ensure compliance with the University's quality assurance standards and work collaboratively to identify enhancements to existing processes.

    Academic Registry Mission:

    The mission of the Academic Registry is to provide efficient, effective and professional support services across the University in the areas of academic quality and governance, student records and data, educational partnerships, and student and course administration from enrolment to graduation.

    Job Purpose:

    This post holder is responsible for providing administrative support for the University's academic quality assurance processes in relation to the student experience and the delivery of programmes, and to undertake/ coordinate/ oversee task champion roles as required.

    The post holder will be required to be proactive and flexible in delivering support to academics and students, and be able to operate under pressure.

    The purpose of the job description is to indicate the general level of responsibility: the duties may vary from time to time without changing the general character or level of responsibility.

    Main Duties & Responsibilities of the role:

  • To provide consistent administrative support for processes designed to deliver programmes and for student engagement with teaching and assessment in accordance with planned schedules and deadlines.
  • To coordinate and deliver on allocated tasks and/or quality assurance processes, overseeing Registry Administrators as appropriate. Task activities may include those related to:

  • Approval and Review of the University's portfolio, including partnership and PSRB activity

  • Annual Monitoring
  • Partnership operations and exchanges
  • External Examiners
  • Student Casework
  • Enrolment/registration
  • Attendance monitoring
  • Assessment process tracking
  • Examination and TCA production
  • Internal and external moderation
  • Communications with students
  • Short courses
  • Board of Examiners

  • To support the academic quality-related administrative processes related to assessment and results.

  • To process amendments to student and curriculum records.
  • To maintain the accuracy and integrity of data held on the Student Record System including regular checking of data in liaison with Registry Officers.
  • To develop a thorough understanding of the rules and regulations related to student administration, partnership and exchange operations, curriculum structures and assessments.
  • To assist in the provision of data as required.
  • To assist with student-related or curriculum development and review events as required.
  • To undertake a task champion role as required.
  • To support student-related administrative processes, and be involved in planning for such activities.
  • To input student-related, assessment and curriculum data accurately into the Student Record System in accordance with University procedures and regulations.
  • To provide a professional and consistent service to students, academics and external stakeholders.
  • To maintain effective communication with students, academic and stakeholders through a variety of channels.

  • To attend relevant meetings as appropriate and take notes as required.
  • To assist with the University's Graduation Ceremonies, undertaking specific tasks as required.
  • To be actively engaged with internal working groups and to proactively implement agreed process changes within the University.
