Office of the TCOM Associate Dean for Research
Research plays an important role in our clinical and education practices. Our
vision is to foster collaborative research initiatives in which basic,
translational, and clinical researchers work together across disciplines and
specialties to discover fundamental insights into human health and disease
and to apply their discoveries to develop new diagnostic tools and
treatments.

Position Overview
The Sr Proposal Support Specialist (Grant Writer) is a key member of TCOM's research team responsible for researching, identifying, and developing funding opportunities that align with TCOM faculty research interests and activities. In addition, the Grant Writer will write, submit and track grant submissions, manage submission workflows and monitor grant status and funding source requirements.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field and four (5) years relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Preferred Qualifications
1. Master's or PhD Degree in biomedical sciences, health sciences or related field
2. Grant writing experience within a health-focused organization
3. Experience in assisting with the development of manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals
Required License / Registration / Certification Work Schedule
Monday to Friday, 8AM to 5PM with some remote work

Job Duties
o
Research and identify funding opportunities that align with TCOM faculty research interests and activities
o
Actively engage and collaborate with TCOM faculty to develop their research interests and to discuss funding needs, opportunities, goals, methodologies, budgets, and evaluation strategies
o
Prepare and submit high-quality grant proposals, narratives, applications and progress reports as required by funding agencies
o
Maintain primary responsibility for grant timelines and the oversight of workflow processes and procedures, both internal and external, to ensure accurate and efficient collections and timely submissions
o
Serve as a liaison between faculty and HSC's Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP) and funding agencies
o
Facilitate collaboration among faculty, communities and institutions to meet faculty research needs
