    Monash eResearch Centre (MeRC) is a University commitment to accelerating research by applying advanced computing and information technology to important research problems. The centre partners with individual researchers, Australian research institutions and facilities and global research communities. MeRC is a leader amongst international eResearch initiatives and runs a number of national projects. Staff at the Monash eResearch Centre help visualise how the human brain is connected, we design high performance computing systems, we write data processing workflows for one-of-a-kind Australian microscopes, and we write smart software for interrogating unique data collections.

    The Opportunity

    MeRC is looking for an experienced Senior Project Officer who will provide a range of project coordination services to support the implementation of high impact projects and subprojects in research infrastructure, research data management and governance.

    Essentially the Senior Project Officer will be coordinating various strategic initiatives like Data Retention Project - a partnership model supporting the retention of valuable research data collections, working closely with researchers and technical experts, DATA scheme accreditation for data user and data service provider, rolling out digital literacy programs for Monash researchers by liaising with eResearch professionals, researchers, internal and external research stakeholders directly to ensure project outcomes are achieved in line with project deadlines.

    To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated experience working with researchers to deliver projects and bring with you an understanding on research infrastructure, research data management and governance. Your strong experience working on multi-jurisdictional and/or national projects to develop or implement research infrastructure will be ideal for the success of the project. Along with strong technical experience you will need strong negotiating ability to influence and to ensure positive and effective relationships are established with internal and external stakeholders.
