The Division of Student Affairs (DSA) exists to support and further the mission of the University by developing, delivering, and advocating for services and programs that unite and support students' academic and life pursuits. Position Overview
This position is responsible for providing oversight to the state-wide Texas Leadership Scholars Program, a program sponsored by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. The program is an elite leadership program seeking to retain high achieving, low-income high school students in Texas for their college education.
The position directs and manages all aspects of this program and engages in communication with participating four-year public institutions across Texas, as well as high schools, to recruit 250 students to the program each year. The position engages in program planning, outcomes assessment, budget management, and student recruitment and retention for a state-wide program.
Additionally, the position supervises the Coordinator of Student Engagement, working with special populations, including foster care alumni, Early College High School graduates, and UNT's Texas Leadership Scholars.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related field and four years of related experience or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Ability to adapt to program/project and incorporate creativity and originality
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in one or more of these areas: Higher Education Administration, College Student Personnel, or a related field; educational administration; or teaching (or combination of bachelor's degree and 5 years of student service experience).

Job Duties
o
Provides effective leadership in all aspects of the program including planning, development, implementation, promotion/dissemination and logistical support of the Texas Scholars Program, as well as programs and services related to serving foster care alumni, early college high school graduates, and UNT's Texas Leadership Scholars.
o
Cultivates and maintains relationships with the THECB, participating institutions' liaisons, high schools, and students across Texas.
o
Compiles data from all participating institutions on Scholars and accurately reports it to the THECB in accordance with reporting deadlines.
o
Recruits at least 250 students, across Texas, to participate in the Texas Leadership Scholars program annually.
o
Develops and conducts assessments of Texas Leadership Scholars Program with students and participating institutions.
o
Allocates administrative budget responsibly and effectively manages expenses
o
Create and maintain collaborative relationships with UNT departments to ensure the success of programs and students.
o
Acts as point of contact for stakeholders related to program and maintains high visibility, on behalf of the program and UNT.
o
Coordinates summer programming for the Scholars program, including a leadership conference, study abroad experience, and unpaid internship stipends for active students in the program.
o
Works with participating institutions and the THECB to ensure each institution receives the correct amount of funding.
o
Effectively develops and implements program processes to meet program objectives by ensuring compliance with guidelines and regulations and providing accurate and timely reporting.
o
Oversees participant data management, ensures accurate reporting of data, and is responsible for the submission of annual reports to the THECB.
