Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Senior Program Coordinator for the The Division of Mathematical and Physical Sciences (MPS).Reporting to, and in consultation with the Administrative Director of Data Science Undergraduate programs, the Senior Program Coordinator (SPC) is responsible for providing administrative support to faculty co-Directors (one each from the departments of Computer Science and Statistics), serve as a liaison within and outside the data science undergraduate programs, and support students regarding studies in Data Science undergraduate programs. The Data Science undergraduate programs include multi departments and university organizations. The SPC coordinates the administration of programs, projects, and/or processes and organizes and coordinates relevant operations.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Prioritizes work, resolves routine conflicts and issues, and interprets, implements, and ensures compliance with policies and regulations, recommends changes to procedures and processes, and serves as the staff liaison between the departments, school administration, and graduate data science programs/student organizations.
  • Serves as point person and information source for all university and departmental policies and procedures relevant to the data science undergraduate programs.
  • Provides information to students, creates informational materials; prepares, processes, and controls records, statistics, reports and documents; and/or performs some fiscal support functions.
  • Schedules appointments, arranges and coordinates design and logistics for events and meetings, and completes other work consistent with a broad understanding of the mission, vision, role, and goals of the data science undergraduate programs.

    Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2023. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date.     Qualifications

    Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of office administration, work organization, coordination, facilitation, bookkeeping, reporting, and the safeguarding of confidential data.
  • A minimum of two years of related work experience.
  • Certifications/Licenses

  • Use of personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands; a valid driver's license would be required for this position.
  • Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Good communication skills, and computer literacy.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous work experience in student affairs or a university environment, working collaboratively with faculty, students, and staff in a university setting, is preferred.
  • Equipment Utilized

  • Microsoft Office suite – Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, Adobe Acrobat , Expense Management, a variety of SAS applications, and unit databases.
  • Physical Demands and Work Environment

    Immunization Requirements
