The Department of Health Sciences within Sargent College is dedicated to the sciences of human physiology, nutrition, and global public health. Together with a diverse community of students, research and clinical faculty, we are committed to improving peoples lives through a variety of pathways involving clinical, applied, and basic sciences. The departments research, teaching and clinical centers address fundamental aspects of health sciences as well as innovations in clinical care. This Senior Program Coordinator position is responsible for managing a wide variety of professional and administrative systems specifically in support of the undergraduate and graduate programs in Human Physiology and Nutrition.

Essential Functions:

  • Create a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere to ensure success, belonging, satisfaction, and engagement of students, guests, and visitors
  • Support student success by providing general guidance about programs and program requirements, triaging student needs, questions and concerns to the appropriate faculty, advisor, or student support services office on campus
  • In coordination with the Program Directors (PDs), support programmatic efforts and curriculum documentation, policies and procedures, and communications with students, prospective students, and alumni to ensure the efficient operation of their respective programs
  • Maintain excel database files for programs in HP and Nutrition: undergraduate students, graduate students, alumni, and employer surveys, where directed by the PD
  • Track student enrollment data and attrition
  • Utilize UIS system to access student accounts, registration, etc.
  • Assign/reassign advisors to incoming and transfer students in consultation with Program Directors for the respective programs
  • Assist PDs in tracking and summarizing data for programmatic learning outcomes, program accreditation needs, and the Departmental Annual Report
  • Coordinate with the PDs and play a supportive role in the admissions process for applicants to the MS HP and Nutrition graduate programs. Serve as a liaison with the Graduate Admissions team at the direction of the PD to assist with managing the application software system for graduate applications, answering inquiries, coordinating/scheduling information sessions and campus visits, organizing and scheduling applicant interviews, etc. Assist in the planning, coordination, and management of projects and special events for the Program Directors in HP and Nutrition
  • Coordinate and manage ordering of supplies for the Human Physiology and Nutrition programs, specifically in support of materials and supplies for the lab courses: gross anatomy, neuroanatomy, exercise physiology, and food science, where necessary
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for information technology tools, ie.; printers, scanners, copier, and fax machine
  • Assist with Faculty Search operations and logistics
  • Provide back-up support to the Department Chairs office in the absence of the Department Manager

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 1-3 years of administrative experience, preferably in an academic setting
  • Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable with learning and troubleshooting new software systems
  • Able to work independently and accurately with high attention to detail
