    Health Translation Queensland (HTQ) is a partnership organisation that brings together 13 of Queensland's leading health research and health service provider organisations working to achieve our vision of – improved population health outcomes through collaborative partnership that translate scientific discovery and knowledge into practice. HTQ provides a platform to facilitate and support greater integration and collaboration between clinicians, health services, educators, researchers and academics. A key focus is the expeditious translation of research finding to clinical practice. The success and value of the partnership is measured by its achievements and impact, achievements and impact that would otherwise not have occurred in the absence of HTQ.

    About This Opportunity

    As Senior Principal, Communications and Engagement, you will play a key role in leading and delivering communication and engagement activity for HTQ.

    The role is responsible for the strategic development, implementation and ongoing review of innovative communication strategies which aim to promote the programs and activities of HTQ and undertake engagement activities to support the strategic and operational objectives of HTQ and our partners under broad direction of senior staff.

    This role will provide high level advice to support HTQ and its partners to deliver their shared communication and engagement goals.

    Key responsibilities will include:

  • Undertake a strategic codesign process with stakeholders to plan and implement strategic and operational marketing, communications and engagement activities that positively position HTQ and its partners for success.

  • Develop and implement processes, policies, and best practice in relation to BDHP's approach to communications, engagement, marketing, media, content creation, engagement and events, branding, videography and photography, web and social media.

  • Manage the development and maintenance of HTQ websites, social media and digital platforms.

  • Manage and deliver a range of community engagement activities including (but not limited to) focus groups, surveys, workshops, advisory groups, events, and co-design activities.

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of communications, engagement and marketing campaigns and initiatives to ensure quality and consistency of BDHP's marketing, communication and engagement activities and their alignment with the University's overall brand, marketing, and communication strategies.

  • Manage the planning and development of content and assets (including video) for programs, in alignment with customer research, key messages and drivers of choice, ensuring all content is accurate, targeted, engaging and complies with UQ standards.

  • Develop and manage targeted communications, engagement and marketing strategies and initiatives that strengthen relationships and collaborations with BDHP's industry, government, health consumer, clinician, and researcher stakeholders.

  • Design and apply effective performance indicators to measure and report on the BDHP's communications and engagement achievements.

  • Build productive relationships to proactively and collaboratively identify opportunities to profile BDHP's programs, research and activities.

    About You

    Alongside degree in marketing, communications or related discipline, plus extensive relative experience and specialist expertise in a related area, our ideal applicant will demonstrate:

  • A thorough understanding of current communications and engagement techniques.

  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with all stakeholders in a service-based environment and develop a co-design and high performing implementation culture.

  • Demonstrated experience in analysing trends and adapting services and programs accordingly, together with a proven ability to conduct evaluations to enhance service delivery and outcomes and demonstrate return on investment.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage relationships and financial resources within a dynamic and changing environment.

  • Integrity, diplomacy, and sensitivity in communicating with a wide range of stakeholders.

  • Ability to work cooperatively and constructively with staff from within HTQ, its partner organisations, and the University.

  • Excellent written communication and oral presentation skills.

  • Experience in IT programs including the Adobe Creative Suite, media monitoring systems, e-newsletter systems, website content management systems, and social media platforms is preferred.

  • Qualifications and experience in the International Association of Public Participation (IAP2) stakeholder engagement or a similar best practice stakeholder engagement framework will be highly regarded.

  • What We Can Offer

    This is a full-time (100%) fixed-term position through to 31st December 2024 at HEW 8

    The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $105,338 - $118,280, plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $123,245 - $138,388 per annum.

    Although this role is offered as a full-time position, part-time and flexible working arrangements will be considered.
