KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER OFFICE

The Knowledge Transfer Office (KTO) serves as the bridge between the University and the community for the transfer of knowledge, expertise, skills and capabilities in campus-wide disciplines. We implement various initiatives to encourage and facilitate knowledge transfer (KT), including but not limited to the protection of intellectual properties of the University, organising activities to engage internal and external stakeholders, encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship activities, and formulate strategies and policies towards the holistic development of the University's KT.

The Office now invites applications for the following position:

Senior Manager (Promotions and Funding) (PR0110/23-24)

Reporting to the Director of Knowledge Transfer Office, the Senior Manager (Promotions and Funding) will lead the promotion and funding team of KTO. The candidate will play a key role in driving the commercialisation and funding of innovative technologies developed at HKBU. This role is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies to promote HKBU's technologies to potential industry partners and investors, as well as providing support for funding applications and investor engagement activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation marketing strategies to promote HKBU's research outcomes to potential industry partners and investors;
  • Develop marketing collaterals, such as pitch decks and executive summaries, to support technology commercialisation efforts;
  • Identify and engage with potential industry partners and investors to promote HKBU's technologies and secure funding opportunities;
  • Provide support for funding applications, including grant writing, budget preparation, and progress reporting;
  • Oversee and manage various funding schemes at KTO;
  • Coordinate and manage investor engagement activities, such as pitching sessions and technology showcases;
  • Work closely with technology transfer team to support the commercialisation of HKBU's technologies;
  • Maintain a good knowledge of the market trends, pathways to impacts and build network with the community for potential collaborations;
  • Co-ordinate exhibition and participate competition of knowledge transfer and research impacts;
  • Promote the entrepreneurship at HKBU and manage associated entrepreneurship programmes, such as TSSSU;
  • Assist the Director of KTO in planning, developing and managing entrepreneurship projects and activities; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Requirements:

  • A recognised bachelor's degree or higher in marketing, business administration, IT or a related field;
  • At least 10 years of relevant work experience in marketing or business development, preferably in the technology industry;
  • Strong project management and communication skills;
  • Experience in funding management, administration, application and / or grant writing is highly preferred;
  • Good working knowledge and work experience in entrepreneurship development would be an advantage;
  • Proven track records in B2B/B2G sales and marketing would be a plus; and
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese).
  • Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written assessment.
