The Faculty of Health and Social Sciences is one of the largest faculties within the University offering a full range of undergraduate, postgraduate and vocationally orientated professional programmes for home and overseas students. The School of Society, Community and Health, within the faculty, is looking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Social Work to Support the delivery across our suite of social work courses. This fixed term post is cover for long-term staff sickness with the possibility of becoming permanent.
We are seeking a personable, hardworking and enthusiastic person to work with our team of Social Work academics in the School. You will be a keen team player and committed to providing an excellent student experience. You will hold a Professional Social Work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. You will be educated to Masters Degree level or above and have recent experience of UK social work practice as well as substantial experience of academic delivery at Higher Education level. Your ability to build strong positive professional working relationships with students, colleagues and employer partners will be important.
This post represents an exciting opportunity to be involved in the delivery of our social work training programmes at both Postgraduate and Undergraduate levels. You will draw on your subject knowledge, experience and expertise to work with colleagues in delivering an innovative curriculum to equip our students for the future of Social Work. In return, you will have the opportunity to work with a forward thinking, passionate and supportive team in a richly diverse environment.
The Faculty has an international research reputation and actively encourages staff to develop their specialist knowledge and skills through research activity, with full support provided by The Institute of Health Research and The Institute of Applied Research.
Social Work courses are delivered at our Luton, Bedford and Aylesbury campus sites.
