    About the Job Our Discipline of Nursing has been an exciting addition to the Department of Nursing and Allied Health which sits within the School of Health Sciences. As a result, Nursing is rapidly developing in the innovative and progressive environment of Swinburne University. We are seeking to enhance the talent and capability of the discipline with a Senior Lecturer who can bring innovation and energy to our teaching and research activities.

    As the Senior Lecturer you will naturally be passionate about technology and health and will contribute to the development and delivery of the nursing course using blended models of unit delivery; participate in the administration and ongoing curriculum development of courses offered by the Discipline; contribute to management of professional placements and progress an active research profile aligned to the strategic direction of the School.

    With a passion to lead, innovate and embrace diversity to enrich the opportunities of colleagues and students in the delivery of the undergraduate and postgraduate courses within the Discipline, you will carry out educational and curriculum development of both online and on campus learning materials and assessments specifically within the area of Mental Health Nursing. In addition, you will facilitate the overall coordination of units, including teaching and marking assessments.

    It is expected you will lead and contribute to research activities in the School of Health Sciences, in, mental health nursing and/or pedagogy and function as a member of both discipline-based and interdisciplinary teams in order to help the Discipline achieve its objectives. As the Senior Lecturer, Nursing you will be expected to carry out appropriate activities that will maintain and develop their scholarly, research and/or professional expertise.

    About you To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Entry level registered nursing qualification; A Doctorate (PhD) (Research) degree appropriate to the Discipline of Nursing; NMBA registration as a registered nurse
  • Demonstrated experience in tertiary teaching including a record of teaching and curriculum development in nursing
  • A high degree of organisational and administrative skills and capacity to contribute to management of course and program delivery
  • A demonstrated interest in technology and health, and a desire to contribute to the strategic vision of the university as a University of Technology
