    About This Opportunity

    This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Lecturer to join the Academy for Medical Education (AME), to contribute to the design and delivery of learning resources for the Doctor of Medicine program and grow their profile in medical education, scholarship, and citizenship.

    The core responsibilities will be to support the design and delivery of the MD program, primarily supporting the development of Year 1 and Year 2 learning resources, including the review of existing resources to enhance integration and a quality student learning experience. This role will work alongside the MD Design team and the Year 1 & 2 coordinators and will support the development and delivery of the program.

    Key responsibilities will include:

  • Teaching: Coordinate the design and development of learning resources, learning experiences and assessments ensuring effective integration.

  • Review and align teaching and learning approaches and technologies to motivate student's participation and achieve learning outcomes.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of learning resources, learning experiences and assessment in line with good practice to enhance student learning across all years of the program.

  • Supervision and Researcher Development: Develop a knowledge of effective pedagogical practices.

  • Review and draw upon best practice research methodologies in curriculum design and implementation.

    This is a full-time (100%), fixed-term position through to 30th June 2025.

    At Academic level C. The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $132,201 - $152,202, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $154,676 - $178,076 annually. As these roles are covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases in line with the Enterprise Agreement.

    About You

  • A medicine or healthcare professional degree, OR a PhD in the discipline area.

  • A strong understanding of contemporary educational practice in medical education.

  • Curriculum expertise and ability to coordinate and support the program delivery.

  • Proven high level of teaching skills with a demonstrated reflective approach to teaching and learning.

  • Demonstrated ability to engage in the scholarship of teaching and learning and quality enhancement activities.

  • Ability to establish effective relationships, work collaboratively with colleagues and to represent and promote the interests of the school to other academic units, government and professional bodies.

  • A growing record of meaningful internal service roles in conjunction with a strong contribution to external activities.

  • In addition, the following mandatory requirements apply:
