  • Role Profile (Word, 47.22kb)
  • We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with expertise in pharmacy practice to join our team and contribute to the teaching of undergraduate and foundation programmes run by the Department of Pharmacy. You will plan, devise, deliver and assess a range of modules in collaboration with a team of academics to deliver a vibrant education to our students that can be translated into real-world skills.

The appointed candidate will also help support our growing experiential learning program and plan, develop and deliver high quality and innovative teaching within the remit of applied pharmacy and clinical practice and review a range of teaching and assessment activities. The candidate will also be expected to develop, sustain and implement a progressive research plan, which contributes to the evidence-base of research in the subject discipline. The role will require some administrative responsibilities and the supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate research projects.

    The Person

The candidate will hold a doctorate or post-graduate qualification in pharmacy practice, a related discipline or hold an equivalent professional qualification. Ideally candidates will have recent experience in pharmacy practice in the UK and have a recognised teaching or learning qualification. Experience in teaching or training in pharmacy practice and a commitment to research, as measured by publications, are desirable.

Applicants will be required to demonstrate that they meet the Kingston University standards in learning and teaching, and research. By the end of the probation period, you must have achieved the relevant level of UKPSF recognition (if this has not already been obtained). For those new to teaching, this will be through our accredited Introduction to Learning and Teaching and for those experienced in teaching, through our Kingston Academic Practice Standards Framework.

    The Faculty

Employability, practical skills and life skills – these are the three core areas of focus in the School of Life Sciences, Pharmacy and Chemistry at Kingston University. We live in a world where there is so much information out there about vital subjects such as cancer biology, pharmacy and sport and nutrition, but it is the real world application of these areas of study that really makes our school stand out.
