The Faculty of Health and Social Sciences is one of the largest faculties within the University offering a full range of undergraduate, postgraduate and vocationally orientated professional programmes for home and overseas students. Following the promotion of the current post holder, the School of Society, Community and Health is looking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Occupational Therapy as Course Coordinator for our growing Undergraduate provision. This is an exciting time to join our developing School and work in partnership with education leads and practice partners across a range of stakeholder settings.

We are seeking a personable, hardworking and enthusiastic person to work with our team of Allied Health academics in the School. You will be a keen team player and committed to providing an excellent student experience. You will hold a Professional Occupational Therapy qualification, be educated to Masters level or with equivalent experience and registered with the HCPC. Your ability to build strong positive professional working relationships with students, colleagues and employer partners will be important.

This post represents an exciting opportunity to be involved in the evolution and delivery of this BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy training programme. You will draw on your subject knowledge, experience and expertise to work with colleagues in devising and delivering an innovative curriculum to equip our students for the future of Occupational Therapy. The successful applicant will take Course Lead responsibility for coordinating the teaching, tutoring and assessments on the undergraduate degree and will contribute to our new Apprenticeship provision. In return, you will become a member of a forward thinking, passionate and supportive team working in a richly diverse environment. You will also have opportunities for continued professional development and research activity.

The Faculty has an international research reputation and actively encourages staff to develop their specialist knowledge and skills through research activity, with full support provided by The Institute of Health Research and The Institute of Applied Research.

Occupational Therapy is delivered from our Luton Park Square campus where there are fantastic specialist facilities including simulation suites for students to practise skills development under the supervision of tutors and a team of dedicated technicians.
