Location: Lincoln Salary: From £40,931 per annum This post is full time and permanent Closing Date: Monday 03 October 2022 Interview Date: Monday 24 October 2022 Reference: COA427

Lincoln School of Design seeks an inspirational and dynamic design academic to deliver industry relevant, future-facing and supportive teaching, and impactful research. It is expected that the successful candidate will have a background in Fashion Design, with expertise in digital technologies for fashion design both in design visualisation and advanced manufacture, and ideally with experience of interdisciplinary working, particularly across the fashion design–product design nexus.

Set in the heart of a beautiful, safe and friendly city, the University of Lincoln is a forward-thinking, ambitious institution with high aspirations and a supportive ethos. Named as Modern University of the Year in The Times and Sunday Times, Good University Guide 2021, our core mission is to combine outstanding, high-impact research and professional practice with a superb student experience and the highest quality civic engagement. This role is the perfect opportunity to contribute to that mission.

You will join the Lincoln School of Design which has established an international reputation for the quality of its teaching and research, delivering a broad range of creative programmes from two purpose-built facilities that house specialist studios, labs, and workshops.

The successful applicant will be able to evidence experience in delivering impactful teaching, have an established research profile in design, excellent team working skills, and an enthusiasm for teaching design and encouraging and supporting students to achieve their full potential.

We are looking for someone with expertise in the areas of digital fashion and fashion-tech, for example fashion visualisation, 3D parametric avatars and virtual/augmented reality (virtual runway/digital showrooms etc), smart textiles / e-textiles, wearable technology, advanced materials/high performance fabrics, sustainable textiles, digital product sizing and personalization, digital manufacturing processes, and new product development.

Assuming the role of Programme Leader for the BA Fashion Design programme as an additional duty, this is an exciting opportunity for someone to imagine the future of Fashion at Lincoln, providing vision and strategic direction and developing new curricula.
