We are seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Dental Technology to join the Team in the School of Dentistry.
The focus of the role is to contribute to, and lead in, the areas of course delivery, module management and course organisation in Clinical Dental Technology at UCLan. The School currently runs the full-time BSc (Hons) in Clinical Dental Technology and a part-time Diploma Programme. You will also contribute and lead in areas of course delivery, course management and course development for BDS and Dental Therapy as the teaching within the three programmes is highly integrated. In addition to this, you will contribute to course administration.
You should have substantial long-term experience of working within clinical practice, general dental practice, a University or hospital environment along with experience of teaching in a relevant area of Higher Education.
Educationally, you should hold a good honours degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject, full current registration with the General Dental Council and a formal teaching qualification or willingness to undertake within 2 years of appointment.
You will be an active networker, with excellent communication skills and you will have the ability to work well within a team. You will need experience of standard Microsoft packages and experience of management or course administration.
You should be able to demonstrate a flexible and innovative approach to teaching and be able to explain theoretical components and demonstrate practical dental technology skills.
