Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing and dynamic Biomedical Science team based within the School of Health (SoH) at Leeds Beckett University (LBU). Biomedical Science is an area of significant growth and development at LBU. We offer a suite of undergraduate and postgraduate courses that are externally accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science and the Royal Society of Biology. Alongside this, Biomedical Science research activity has grown significantly since 2014, supported by investment from the SoH through the recruitment of research-active academics, funded PhD studentships and development of research laboratory infrastructure and capital equipment, resulting in 80% of our research outputs being rated as international or world-leading in REF2021.

We are now seeking to appoint two Senior Lecturers in Biomedical Science. We particularly welcome applications from applicants with expertise and a strong research track record in the fields Biochemistry or Microbiology. The successful candidates will lead, develop, and deliver high-quality teaching across our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, both in Biomedical Sciences, other relevant subject areas within the SoH, and to our international partners. The post-holder will also be expected to lead independent research and/or enterprise activities that align with our current research strengths within The Centre for Biomedical Science Research.

For an informal discussion about these posts contact Prof. Jim Boyne, Head of Biomedical Science, at j.boyne@leedsbeckett.ac.uk.

Closing date: Monday 24 October 2022 (23:59)

Interview date: Thursday 10 November 2022
