About This Opportunity
This is an exciting and unique opportunity for a Clinical Academic to create,
lead and implement a dedicated interprofessional practice education team in
one of the highest-ranking Schools of Nursing, Midwifery & Social Work in
Australia. This new interprofessional Practice Education Team will be
responsible for ensuring best evidence-based practice education and an
excellent student practice experience.
You will be strategically responsible for establishing and developing
relationships with practice providers to ensure capacity and quality of
placements for students across all our undergraduate and postgraduate programs
that lead to a professional registration in nursing, midwifery, social work
and counselling. You will also lead a program of scholarship and research that
underpins our approach to practice education. You will be able to make and
demonstrate a significant contribution to educating the future workforce
across health and social work professions.

This position is located primarily at our picturesque St Lucia campus however
this role will require some travel to practice sites where students undertake
simulation and practice placement.

responsible for a number of programs including the Bachelor of Social Work,
Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Midwifery, Bachelor of Nursing/Bachelor of
Midwifery dual degree, Master of Nursing Studies, Master of Social Work
Studies and the Master of Counselling degrees. It has extensive, well-
established partnerships in the hospital, health care, social welfare and
disability sectors and a developing cohort of research higher degree students.
In the most recent Shanghai rankings (2020) by subject area
nursing/midwifery, University of Queensland (UQ) was ranked 2nd in Australia
and 4thin the World. In the most recent Excellence in Research Australia
(ERA) ratings UQ received the maximum rating of 5 (“Well above World
Standard”) in Nursing, including midwifery and Social Work. UQ was the only
Australian University to achieve that rating in the discipline of social work.

Our Ideal Candidate
To be successful for this position, you will have completed an advanced
professional qualification or Higher Degree by Research in one of the
discipline areas of nursing, midwifery, social work or counselling. Your
knowledge and experience in one of the disciplines will be partnered with the
ability to engage in high quality clinical teaching at both the undergraduate
and postgraduate levels. You will also be able to demonstrate the capacity to
engage in independent research, as evidenced by an established track record of
publications. You will have a strong track record in supervising postgraduate
students, including higher research degree students. Finally, you will hold
the ability to establish relationships with the profession and promote
nursing, midwifery, social work or counselling at both a university and wider

registration with AHPRA, the Australian Association of Social Work or
membership of the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia.

This is a full-time, continuing position at Academic Level C.
The full-time equivalent base salary will be up to $140,603 per annum, plus
superannuation of up to 17%. The total package will be up to $164,506 per
