An outstanding opportunity to join the Department of Biochemistry and
Pharmacology at the University of Melbourne as a Senior Lecturer/Associate
Professor in Pharmacology.
About the role:
The successful candidate will develop and maintain a high-level research
program in a field of pharmacology complementary to existing areas of research
strength in the Department of Biochemistry and Pharmacology and deliver and
support teaching and learning.
The Department is particularly seeking expertise in computational approaches
to pharmacology and drug design, pharmacokinetics and toxicology and
pharmacogenomics, as well as knowledge and, ideally, the experience of
transitioning discoveries into translational development.
The successful candidate will be appointed at either Academic Level C or D,
subject to the Appointee's research record, qualifications and experience.
As the successful applicant, you will:
Have a PhD or in a relevant area or equivalent professional qualification
Make significant contributions to pharmacology and related research areas
at a national and increasingly international level, as evidenced by peer
recognition, interactions, and collaborations with academia and industry.
Provide teaching expertise in pharmacology and related disciplines.
Provide leadership and mentoring to staff, as required, and contribute to
the Department's collective research and engagement activities.
Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability
to build and maintain relationships with colleagues (internal and
external) and work collaboratively.
