The Department of Psychology is a large, creative workplace that, in addition to being a prominent research facility, provides higher education at all levels within psychology. More than 1000 students attend the departments various courses and programs, from undergraduate to doctoral level, including psychologist program, psychotherapist program and specialist programs.

Subject/subject description Developmental Psychology.

Main responsibilities The Department of Psychology aims to recruit a Senior lecturer in Psychology with orientation towards Developmental Psychology. The main tasks involve teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels mainly within the Psychologist and Psychotherapy programs at the department, with a specific focus on clinical developmental psychology. The tasks also include supervision of students at different levels, course management and development, and conducting research. The holder of the position is also expected to participate in pedagogical development as well as in departmental committees and task forces.

The employment includes competence and research time according to the current terms and conditions agreement.

Qualification requirements Eligible applicants for the position of senior lecturer should hold a PhD in psychology, or have equivalent research skills and have demonstrated teaching expertise in Developmental Psychology.

Teaching proficiency should be demonstrated through teaching experience at both the undergraduate and master's level.

Teaching proficiency should be well documented and in a manner that makes it possible to assess the quality of the teaching activities.

The applicant must have the ability to cooperate with colleagues as well as other abilities that are required in order successfully to meet the demands of the position.

Furthermore, eligible applicants should be licensed psychologists or have the equivalent clinical and academic competence acquired abroad.

Assessment criteria

Special and equal emphasis will be placed on teaching and research skills within Developmental Psychology. The pedagogical proficiency should be demonstrated by teaching, supervision, and for example, the production of textbooks in the subject area, and the scientific proficiency through own research within Developmental Psychology. The scientific merits should be recent.

Strong emphasis will be placed on documented ability to cooperate well with colleagues and fellow researchers. Strong emphasis will also be placed on administrative skills and proven collaboration with the surrounding society and dissemination of research and development.

Strong emphasis will be placed applicants having a license of psychotherapy or equivalent competence acquired abroad.

Emphasis will be placed on having successfully planned, applied for and obtained research grants from external research funding bodies.

It is a merit to have completed at least 15 higher education credits in teaching and learning in higher education or to have otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge.

Additional information An applicant who does not have at least 15 higher education credits in teaching and learning in higher education, and is not deemed to have acquired equivalent knowledge, must complete such training within the first two years of employment.

Proficiency in Swedish is not a requirement for the position, but the applicant has to be ready to take on administrative and pedagogical tasks that demand an understanding and usage of Swedish after two years of employment.
