About the role
We are looking to appoint a Senior Laboratory Technician to work as part of the laboratory glassware team which provides clean glassware to the laboratories within the Dorothy Crowfoot Hodgkin Building. This role will also be required to provide cover within the Media preparation and biological waste laboratories when required and will be required to ensure that compliance with laboratory regulations is maintained across all three of the laboratories.
This full-time permanent post is funded by the Department of Biochemistry and is based at the Department of Biochemistry, South Parks Road, Oxford.
The actual starting salary offered will be based on qualifications and relevant skills acquired and will also be determined by the funding available.

About you
Applicants should be educated to GCSE level or equivalent and should have an understanding of basic techniques used in a biological laboratory. The ability to follow predetermined protocols consistently and accurately is essential, as well as demonstrated ability to work co-operatively with others. In addition, you will have good IT skills with a demonstrable ability to utilise standard programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with biological laboratory work and knowledge of laboratory health and safety practices would be advantageous.
