Provides IT hardware support to faculty and staff, as well as serves as the team lead on escalated problem resolution requests in classrooms, computer labs and conference spaces

Essential Job Functions

  • Provides advanced support and direction to field service staff to troubleshoot and resolve escalated and complicated desktop technology problems remotely or with on premise intervention
  • Monitors the support tickets completed by field services staff for quality and training opportunities, as well as analyzes commonly reported issues to recommend support improvements
  • Monitors performance of assigned team for front-line problem resolutions and computer lab support
  • Maintains and supports computer lab hardware including installation, imaging, configuration and testing
  • Supports classroom technology by conducting pro-active testing and responding to problems as they arise
  • Collaborates with IT staff, and escalates as needed to provide efficient operation of the desktop and academic computing environments
  • Leads the deployment of new technology including office moves and new employee onboarding
  • Assists in preparing, maintaining and upholding procedures for monitoring and reporting desktop and academic computing operations
  • Develops and maintains an inventory of hardware, software and peripheral assets
  • Leads research and recommends products in support of development and procurement efforts
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of an associate's degree or a combination of education/certification(s) and/or experience suitable for the position
  • Experience working in information technology or in other related work
  • Please note : Qualified candidates must live or relocate within a daily commuting distance of the Providence Campus location upon hire.
